The White Stripes están celebrando el aniversario No 20 de su cuarto álbum de estudio certificado platino por la RIAA en 2003, Elephant, contará con dos lanzamientos especiales.  Elephant (Deluxe) saldrá digitalmente el viernes 31 de marzo a través de Third Man Records y el audio HD remasterizado del álbum de estudio original unido con  el set de 27 canciones de la banda del 2 de julio de 2003 en el Aragon Ballroom de Chicago de su «Elephant Tour».

Lanzado el 1 de abril de 2003, «Elephant» rápidamente demostró ser un fenómeno galardonado y aclamado por la crítica, además  de obtener popularidad en todo el mundo, alcanzando el puesto # 6 en el Billboard 200   y también encabezando la lista oficial de álbumes del Reino Unido.

Grabado en gran parte durante dos semanas en abril de 2002 en los estudios Analógicos Toe Rag de Londres, «Elephant» incluye sencillos ahora clásicos como el ganador del premio GRAMMY® «Seven Nation Army», «I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself», «The Hardest Button To Button» y «There’s No Home For You Here», todo lo cual llevó  a David Fricke de Rolling Stone a aclamar el álbum; «Un trabajo de perfección pulverizadora».

«Elephant» ganó el Premio GRAMMY® 2004 por «Mejor Álbum Alternativo» y fue nominado al «Álbum del Año».
